Hello. This is kind of a test. I have tried to syndicate my blog on livejournal and I want to see if it it’s working.
I could not syndicate on my own, so I had to break into Lauren Myracle’s account and do it from there. Thanks Lauren honey!!!!
Now that I know her password, I’m going to hijack her account one of these days and write my own blog. It can happen at any point Lauren…be afraid. Be very afraid.
Choosing a name was tough. Seriously. I spent at least 25 minutes debating.
See, the livejournal blog I started (and that I will no longer be using) is http://sarah-mlynowski.livejournal.com so it wouldn’t let me double dip. Then I tried sarahmlynowski and was shocked to see that it’s already being used.
By who you wonder? Could there be another Sarah Mlynowski? No. There could not. There are about six other Mlynowskis in the US and Canada and I have already found them all on Facebook. That’s a story for another time.
A fan club with only one member, but still. Sure, it hasn’t been activated since 2005, but I am all smiley about it anyway.
Although my husband may not love the tag line: Lovers of Sarah Mlynowski, Unite!
But I don’t think they/she means it that way.
So. Now that I’ve syndicated, what does this do exactly? I’m not sure. I think it means that people who want to read the blog regularly can sign up. If any of you have syndicated can you explain? Or let me know if I’m doing this correctly? Merci.
In other blogging news, the adorable Little Willow has posted my Q&A! Little Willow actually sent me many of these questions for the Spells launch but I am very bad with Q&As and never did them. But she is a sweetie and did not hold my suckiness against me. Check em out!

I’ll be a guest auhor at RandomBuzzers.com!
I meant to tell you about the new one every day but I’ve been sick with a cold. Blah. Am feeling better now so will try to update you more often. I am getting the hang–almost–of this blog thing.
Thanks to everyone who came to Books of Wonder today! I love that store. I signed a ton of books too, and the owner told me that people who want can order them directly from their website. As soon as I find out more info, I’ll post it.
Right now I want to tell you about the virtual event that’s happening on Tuesday. Have you ever been on a virtual reality site? It is CRAZY. There are people in CRAZY outfits. There are people having conversations. Dancing. Hanging out. Buying things.
Celebrating the release of Parties & Potions!
Which is what I’ll be doing on Tuesday at 7 PM EST.
To take part, you have to be a member of there.com. It’s FREE. And they’re having a promotion right now with CosmoGirl magazine that will give you their voice feature (which usually has a cost) with the free basic membership. So instead of just texting we’ll be able to actually talk at the event. You’ll have to download some software, but it was pretty easy–I just did it (Although it doesn’t seem to be working on my Mac, only on a PC. I’ll find out if I just can’t figure out how to do it on the Mac and let you know.)
They are even doing pre-events! Last week there was “Parties & Potions Pajama Party” and on Monday there’s a “Magic in Manhattan” Trivia Game Show. And you can even get I am Miri T-shirts! Look!
150 people have already signed up! I’m super excited. If you’re not already a There.com member I would join before the event to figure out how to navigate this virtual reality thing. I know I’m not entirely sure how to walk yet.
I had so much fun last night in Manhasset that I’m doing another signing this week!
Okay, fine, this signing was planned before I knew how awesome a time I’d have at B&N. But don’t hold it against me.

Parties & Potions Launch Party!
Free and open to the public
If you come, you’ll get to meet the whole fam. Husband, sister, father, step-mom, in-laws. You know you want to!
Yup. Parties & Potions is finally available in stores. Yay!
What it’s about…
Perfect hair, cute clothes, healthy tans–life’s a ball when you’re a witch! This year Rachel and Miri are both debuting at a magical party called a Samsorta, a debutante ball for witches.
And it wouldn’t be a ball without warlocks. Cute ones. Like sweet and charming Adam.
Of course, Rachel is madly in love with her boyfriend, Raf.
Rachel knows Raf likes her. Maybe even, gulp, loves her. But Raf doesn’t know her secret.
Unlike Adam, Raf doesn’t know who she really is. And she can never tell him.
Or can she?

You can even listen to most of the first chapter right Parties & Potions.
So right now the book is available in the US, in Canada, and it should also be available in the UK and in Australia. But for those of you in the UK and Australia, you’re looking for the American version of the book. It’s the hardcover, Magic in Manhattan version. My UK publisher is not publishing another All About Rachel book but my American publisher came to the rescue and is shipping their version abroad. If anyone sees the book in the UK or Australia, will ya let me know? Thanks.
Thanks to Ally Carter and everyone else for coming to the live launch chat yesterday! It got really busy and my chatroom got really cranky, so I appreciate everyone hanging in there.
Also, now that I have this cool, new, seriously easy to use blog, I will try to write updates more frequently. Yes, I no I’ve said that before, but this time I mean it.
Also, you can leave comments! So please do. Because otherwise I’ll think that no one is reading.
Since some of you have asked me about getting Parties & Potions signed for holiday gifts (it comes out on December 23rd) I set up a mailbox to make this happen.
(What’s a bookplate? It’s a sticker you can stick into your copy of Parties & Potions! And it’s free!)
Want one?
Here’s what to do:
Send a letter and include a SASE (a self-addressed stamped envelope) to:
Sarah Mlynowski, 1397 Second Avenue #130, NY NY 10021
Please tell me who I should sign the bookplate for. I’m also happy to personalize a few in the same letter if you want one for yourself or if you’re getting a Magic in Manhattan book for everyone on your holiday list.
Make sure to put the right address and postage on the self-addressed stamped envelope or you won’t get the bookplate/s because the letter will come back to me or get lost.
You may also want to include your e-mail address in the note in case of problem…
At the moment, this only works if you use American postage on your SASE. If you live in Canada, or Australia or anywhere else, your self-addressed stamped envelope has to have an American stamp to make it back to you. Sorry about that!
If you work in a bookstore, or are a teacher or a librarian and would like a bunch of signed bookplates for your readers/students, I’m happy to send a stack your way, just e-mail me:sarah at sarahmlynowski.com or in the contact section of this website.
