Contest reminder!

Hi all,

Just a reminder that the deadline for the Magic in Manhattan contest is almost here…

What contest?

As Rachel and Miri know, life’s a ball when when you’re a witch. In 100 words or less, tell Random House what you would do if you could be a witch for day!

One grand-prize winner will win a trip for four to New York City (as well as lunch with another wannabe witch…me).

To enter the contest and for more details go to www.MagicinManhattan.com.

All entries must be received by March 1, 2009.

Good luck!

Sarah

Ally Carter’s Bookclub today!

Hi all,

Just a reminder that Ally Carter (fab author of the hilarious Gallagher Girls books) will be discussing Bras & Broomsticks at her bookclub chat at 5:00 pm Eastern time today, Feb 15.

For instructions on how to log on, go to her website a few minutes before five. Can’t wait to chat!

Will the real me please stand up?

Hi,

Thank you guys for coming!!!!!!! I love chatting with readers.

But I think I might need new chat software. The one I just did was fun, but some people got…unruly. And pretended to be me. If anyone is still on the chat (even though it is closed) know that I am not on it.

Anyway. Thanks for coming! Must go eat dinner now!

Night!

Online Chat Tonight!

Hi all,
I’m having a live chat on my website TONIGHT (Tuesday, Feb 3) at 7:00 PM EST. Happy to talk about PARTIES & POTIONS, the rest of the Magic in Manhattan series, writing, TV (how good was Gossip Girl last night?), Twilight (doesn’t it seem like all conversations lead to Twilight?), or anything you’d like.
The room will be open from 7:00 until 8:00 pm EST. Just go to the events section of my website and sign in.

There’s going to be another online chat coming up…this one hosted by superstar Ally Carter (author of the hilarious I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You and Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy.)  Ally has chosen Bras & Broomsticks to be her Feb book club pick! For more info go to Ally’s diary. I’ll pass on more info as soon as I get it, but the chat will take place in the Ally Chat chatroom (I don’t have the link yet) on Sunday, February 15th at 5:00 Eastern (4:00 central, etc.) time.

Hope to see you tonight!
Hugs & wishes,
Sarah

New York, NY

What I did tonight…

I hijacked Lauren’s blog! Tee hee. That was fun.

You can read my post here:

http://laurenmyracle.com/blog.html

And wish her good luck on her big speech tonight at the 4th Annual Freedom to Read Benefit at the Tattered Cover in Denver!

And if you haven’t already read her BRILLIANT BOOKS you should run, run, RUN to the bookstore. If you’re under 12 I’d start with ELEVEN and if you’re over 12 I’d start with TTYL. If you like being scared silly, start with BLISS. Happy reading!

Syndication

Hello. This is kind of a test. I have tried to syndicate my blog on livejournal and I want to see if it it’s working.

I could not syndicate on my own, so I had to break into Lauren Myracle’s account and do it from there. Thanks Lauren honey!!!!

Now that I know her password, I’m going to hijack her account one of these days and write my own blog. It can happen at any point Lauren…be afraid. Be very afraid.

If anyone wants to read my syndicated blog on livejournal the link should/will be http://smlynowski.livejournal.com

Choosing a name was tough. Seriously. I spent at least 25 minutes debating.

See, the livejournal blog I started (and that I will no longer be using) is http://sarah-mlynowski.livejournal.com so it wouldn’t let me double dip. Then I tried sarahmlynowski and was shocked to see that it’s already being used.

By who you wonder? Could there be another Sarah Mlynowski? No. There could not. There are about six other Mlynowskis in the US and Canada and I have already found them all on Facebook. That’s a story for another time.

But back to Sarahmlynowski on livejournal.

It’s a… fan club! Look! http://community.livejournal.com/sarahmlynowski

A fan club with only one member, but still. Sure, it hasn’t been activated since 2005, but I am all smiley about it anyway.

Although my husband may not love the tag line: Lovers of Sarah Mlynowski, Unite!

But I don’t think they/she means it that way.

So. Now that I’ve syndicated, what does this do exactly? I’m not sure. I think it means that people who want to read the blog regularly can sign up. If any of you have syndicated can you explain? Or let me know if I’m doing this correctly? Merci.

In other blogging news, the adorable Little Willow has posted my Q&A! Little Willow actually sent me many of these questions for the Spells launch but I am very bad with Q&As and never did them. But she is a sweetie and did not hold my suckiness against me. Check em out!

OK, I am off to get hot chocolate. It is my new obsession. Along with clementines.

Speaking of fruit, I just finished PEACHES today and I LOVED it. If you are looking for a great friendship novel, check it out.

Hugs & wishes,

Sarah

Virtual Event on Tuesday!!!!

Thanks to everyone who came to Books of Wonder today! I love that store. I signed a ton of books too, and the owner told me that people who want can order them directly from their website. As soon as I find out more info, I’ll post it.

Right now I want to tell you about the virtual event that’s happening on Tuesday. Have you ever been on a virtual reality site? It is CRAZY. There are people in CRAZY outfits. There are people having conversations. Dancing. Hanging out.  Buying things.

Celebrating the release of Parties & Potions!

Which is what I’ll be doing on Tuesday at 7 PM EST.

To take part, you have to be a member of there.com. It’s FREE. And they’re having a promotion right now with CosmoGirl magazine that will give you their voice feature (which usually has a cost) with the free basic membership. So instead of just texting we’ll be able to actually talk at the event. You’ll have to download some software, but it was pretty easy–I just did it (Although it doesn’t seem to be working on my Mac, only on a PC. I’ll find out if I just can’t figure out how to do it on the Mac and let you know.)

The sign-up path for this promotion starts through this URL: http://www.there.com/cosmogirl/

They are even doing pre-events! Last week there was “Parties & Potions Pajama Party” and on Monday there’s a  “Magic in Manhattan” Trivia Game Show. And you can even get I am Miri T-shirts! Look!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/25010566@N07/with/3184046314/

Once you’re a member, you can sign up for the event right here:

http://webapps.prod.there.com/eventmgmt/eventmgmt?op=view&id=647206278

150 people have already signed up! I’m super excited. If you’re not already a There.com member I would join before the event to figure out how to navigate this virtual reality thing. I know I’m not entirely sure how to walk yet.

OK, that’s it for tonight.

Hope to see you on Tuesday!

Hugs & wishes,
Sarah
